Two arrested following aggravated carjacking at Maryvale

From Victoria Police

Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two hitchhikers following an aggravated carjacking which occurred in Maryvale on Thursday night.

The incident occurred when the victim, a 45-year-old Sale man, who was driving from Sale to Melbourne, picked up the two hitchhikers near a fast-food outlet in Traralgon just before 6pm.

While travelling on Tanjil East Road, one of the offenders allegedly produced a firearm and threatened the victim telling him to pull over and get into the back seat.
