This Major Flood Warning is being issued for Avon River.

MODERATE FLOODING EXPECTED ALONG THE AVON RIVER FROM THURSDAY. MAJOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE.

Minor flooding is occurring along the Avon River at the Channel. Rapid river rises are expected to continue along the Avon River during Thursday.
Minor to moderate flooding is likely to develop along the Avon River at Stratford from late Thursday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain and major flooding may develop during Thursday afternoon.

The Avon River at Stratford is currently at 1.61 meters and rising, it's expected to exceed the minor flood level (4.50 m) late Thursday morning.


The river level is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (6.00 m) early Thursday afternoon and may reach the major flood level (6.50 m) late Thursday afternoon.


Leaving now is the safest option, before conditions become too dangerous.
