East Gippsland Crime Investigation Unit detectives uncovered a large quantity of materials allegedly used to manufacture explosives during a search warrant in Flaggy Creek this week.

A search warrant was issued, and the address searched on Wednesday, after being tipped off to the fact someone at the address was purchasing the materials.

A large quantity of chemical substances and other materials related to the manufacture of explosive substances were located.

A 53-year-old Flaggy Creek man was arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
