22 Covid cases in Latrobe and more are expected

There are now 22 active COVID-19 cases in Latrobe City, according to the latest update from the Gippsland Regional Public Health Unit (GRPHU).

Victoria's Covid Response Commander, Jeroen Wiemar has been in Traralgon this morning, visiting teams working at Latrobe Regional Hospital, the GRPHU and the testing site at the indoor sports stadium in Traralgon.

Mr Wiemar said the cases are linked across Moe, Morwell and Traralgon. He said contact tracing is continuing and more case numbers are expected.

GRPHU said in the 11am update that an additional drive through pop up testing site has been established at the Morwell East Football Netball Ground, opening at 12pm today.

INFORMATION FROM THE GIPPSLAND REGIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH UNIT:

To access the Morwell East Football Netball Ground, please follow traffic management signage and enter from Vary Street, heading south from Hourigan Road. Turn left to drive around the oval to the testing site.

Please refrain from blocking local residents’ driveways.

Additional testing sites in Latrobe City include;

• Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium drive through, Ashby St, Traralgon 9.30am–5pm today, Thursday 30 September and Friday 1 October. No appointments required.

• Dorevitch Pathology drive through at LRH, Traralgon 10am - 3pm today and tomorrow, and 9am-11.30am Friday. For bookings contact 5165 0800.

• LCHS - Senior Citizens Centre, Moe - Walk-up, no appointments necessary. 9am–11am today and 9am–11am and 1pm-4pm tomorrow, and 9am – 12pm Friday.
