Dale Harriman to stand for Libs in Morwell
Dale Harriman has been confirmed as the Liberal Party candidate for the seat of Morwell at the November state election.
Party leader Matthew Guy made the announcement in Morwell on Friday, although word leaked out a week before.
Cr Harriman is a current councilor and former mayor of Latrobe City Council, and works at the Latrobe Valley Authority. Previous involvements include the Gippsland Carers Association and Chair of the National Timber Councils Association.
Cr Harriman says he will work for more local jobs to grow the local economy.
Meanwhile, the National Party is taking nominations for pre-selection for the November election.
The current member Russell Northe left the Nats last year and holds the seat as an Independent by just 1.8 percent.
Mr Northe hasn't yet said if he'll contest the election.
Mark Richards will stand for the Labor Party.
