The day the Commonwealth Games baton came to Morwell
People lined the streets of Morwell today as 15 participants carried the Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton from the Centenary Rose Garden to Immigration Park.
Paralympic (Rio 2016) swimmer Emily Beecroft had the honour of the final leg, carrying the baton into a community celebration at the park near Kernot Lake.
“Representing my country was such an honour," said Emily, "but to represent my home community is so much more fun and really special."
"It’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
