Speed and drug drivers intercepted in Latrobe
Already dealing with storms and difficult driving conditions, Latrobe Highway Patrol officers were left frustrated by a number of road users adding further risk to the safety of others on Friday night.
Police intercepted a Mazda Proton after it was allegedly detected travelling at 139km/h in an 80 zone along John Field Drive in Newborough about 7.20pm.
The 23-year-old Newborough male had his vehicle impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1143.
Shortly after finishing with the impound, the same crew intercepted an unregistered vehicle on Narracan Drive.
The driver, a 31-year-old Newborough woman, returned a positive preliminary oral fluid test for methamphetamine.
