Traralgon speedster old enough to know better
From Victoria Police
A 73-year-old Churchill man will have to find a new mode of transport after having his licence suspended for 6 months in Traralgon last night.
The man was intercepted by Latrobe Highway Patrol members just before 10pm on the Princess Highway after being detected travelling at an alleged 125km in a 80km zone.
He was issued with a penalty notice for $661 and has lost 6 demerit points.
This intercept forms part of Operation Regal, a state-wide focus on keeping our community safe on the roads.
The four day operation continues today, aimed to reduce the number of lives lost and injuries on the roads.
During this time motorists should expect to have their vehicles scanned, be breath tested, drug tested and speed-checked by police.
The operation involves all available personnel including; local road policing units, general duties, other operational policing units and centralised resources from Road Policing Command.
