Thunderstorm cell over Traralgon causes flash flooding

40mm of rain fell on Traralgon late yesterday afternoon, associated with a thunderstorm cell that caused flash flooding in parts of the town.

Traffic lights at busy highway intersections were affected, while street drainage in parts of the town struggled to cope with the sudden downpour.

The Bureau of Meteorology said of that 40mm. 22mm of that fell within half an hour, causing the flash flooding.
