Spreading Christmas love to those in need of a helping hand

Christmas is around the corner and for many of us it is a happy time. Gifts, parties, friends, family... not to mention the eating and relaxing.

However that is not the Christmas experience for some in our community, for whom circumstances have not fully been in their favour. Some may be looking at bare pantry shelves, or feeling that no one cares about their difficulties.

Well Tracie Lund and the team at Morwell Neighbourhood House do. Once again this year they're running a Christmas Donation Drive.

Almost two weeks remain for anyone from the community to donate items, so that 40 food hampers can be handed out to local families. Donation suggestions below.

While the House has some staples, they would be very grateful to receive donations of festive items and non-perishable foods.

Here are some suggestions:

Christmas lollies
short breads
pancake mix
cereals
jams, vegemite, cheese spread, etc
tinned fruit
custard
tomato sauce
chips
muesli bars
fully loaded soup
tinned salmon/tuna,
apple sauce & mint sauce
pasta
pasta sauce
cordial
juice
sugar
coffee
tea
milo
bon bons
Christmas cards
wrapping paper

Donations can be dropped at the House at 48–50 Beattie Crescent, Morwell during office hours. Donations close on Friday 13 December.
